Field Definition Visibility Settings

These settings control whether a Field can be seen or edited by certain users.

Tip

These settings can be edited using the Data Definition Editor or the Form Editor.

Hidden

A Field Definition can be made Hidden to certain Roles by using the Hidden Field Definition Setting

Note

This setting is not the same as the Hidden Form Element Setting.

Add the Hidden attribute to the Field Definition and then choose the Roles to hide the fields from.

Example

Hide Submission fields from Reviewers by selecting the Submission Reviewer role.

Read Only

A Field Definition can be made Read Only to certain Roles by using the Read Only Field Definition Setting

Note

This setting is not the same as the Read Only Form Element Attribute.

Role

Choose a Role from the dropdown to make all Fields using the Field Definition read only.
